Vernon Wohlgemuth Obituary, Death – Vernon Wohlgemuth Has Suddenly Passed Away. Vernon Rickie Wohlgemuth, 80, of Triplett, MO, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at North Kansas City Hospital in North Kansas City, MO. Funeral services will be held at the Christian Church in Triplett, MO on Wednesday, May 24, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. Reverend Lanny Lybarger and Donnie Lybarger will officiate the service. Visitation will be held at Breshears Memorial Chapel in Brunswick, MO on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. Burial will be at McCullough Cemetery in Triplett, MO.
Rick, as he was known by his family and friends, was born on January 13, 1943, in Brunswick, MO, the son of Vernon and Lauraetta (Underwood) Wohlgemuth. He graduated from Bosworth High School in 1961 and attended Southwest Missouri State University. On March 31, 1964, he enlisted into the United States Army. During his service he earned the Expert Marksman Badge (Rifle M-14). He honorably served his country until February 3, 1965. On May 16, 1969, he was united in marriage to the love of his life, Nancy Jackson, at the Christian Church in Triplett, MO.
Together they were blessed with two sons, Gerald and John. Rick was a lifelong farmer, drove a school bus for 30 years for Bosworth, and drove a truck for Waller Trucking for 13 years. He was a 50-year Mason out of the Bosworth and Hale Masonic Lodges and was a member of the Triplett Christian Church. Rick loved spending time with his family, hunting, hummingbirds, and gossiping every morning with the Brunswick Coffee Club.
Rick is survived by his beloved wife of the home, Nancy; his two sons, Gerald Wohlgemuth and his wife Lorie of Huntsville, MO and John Wohlgemuth and his wife Deana of Brunswick, MO; and five grandchildren, Jackson, Jason, Wesley, Dakota, and Lance. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Lauraetta. Pallbearers will be Mark Wright, Kenny Wright, Steve Carroll, Dennis Blunk, Matt Blunk, and Tim Jacobs. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to be made to the Triplett Christian Church. Donations may be left at or mailed to Breshears Memorial Chapel, 207 W. Broadway, Brunswick, MO, 65236.
