Terry Zahn Obituary, Death – Terry Zahn of Virginia has sadly passed away. The son of Powers D. Zahn and Helen (Childs) Zahn Shoemaker, he was born on Monday, April 6, 1936, in Lafayette, Indiana. On June 1, 1958, at St. Johns Episcopal Church in Lafayette, Indiana, he wed Delsie K. (Dalton) Zahn.
Terry attended Hiram College in Hiram, Ohio after graduating from Lafayette Jefferson High School in 1954. He then went on to Purdue University’s School of Industrial Engineering to earn a degree in industrial engineering. Before starting his own company, he served as the vice president and plant manager for the Nelson McCoy Pottery for a number of years. For 25 years, he and his longtime business partner Frank Rossi co-owned and ran the Friendship Pottery in Roseville, Ohio.
Terry was an active member of the St. James Episcopal Church for a very long period. In addition, he was a lifelong member of the Mooresville Lodge #78 Indiana Freemasons, the Coast Guard Auxiliary, the Sandusky Yacht Club, the Zanesville Country Club, and the Purdue Alumni Association.
Additionally, he was a 32nd-degree Mason and a 50-year member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis.
Terry is survived by his wife of the same address, three children, Terrence “Ted” (Jennifer) Zahn of Rockwall, TX, Robin (Jim) Zahn Lumadue of Encinitas, CA, Gail (Mike) Zahn Troupe of Waterloo, IL, and four grandchildren, Nicole Troupe, Megan (Seth) Troupe Fankhauser, Emily Lumadue, and Jacqueline Lumadue; Eleanor Zahn from Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
The husband’s sister, Beverly Bush, also known as Dr. Charles E. Bush, is from Kirklin, Indiana. Terry Lynn Frank, Cindy Rieke, and Marilynn Jo Beaty are my three nieces, while Jack Terry Zahn, Douglas Zahn, and Bruce Zahn are my three nephews. Along with his parents, he was also preceded in death by his brother Jack P. Zahn, his brother-in-law Gordon Smith, and his nephew Robert S. Zahn. He passed away before his parents.
