Sarah Koury Obituary, Death – A ruptured splenic artery aneurysm caused the May 20, 2018, death of Sarah Cynthia Koury, 19, of Trumbull. In New Haven, Connecticut, on January 22, 1999, she was one of three triplets. All of Sarah’s grandparents—her paternal grandparents Jim and Cindy Booth of Hornell, New York.
And her parents, Mace and Marcy Koury of Trumbull—her sister Erika, the triplet brothers Kyle and Dylan, and they all remember her. A considerable number of adored aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends are also left to cherish her memory. Her paternal grandparents, Richard and Lucille Koury of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, predeceased her. Sarah’s infectious smile, which could make your heart melt, brought happiness to her family and friends.
Sarah earned an honors diploma from Trumbull High School and was admitted to the Spanish and National Honor Societies. During the fall of her first year as a World Scholar at the University of Delaware, Sarah studied international business in Madrid. Sarah was a member of the sorority Gamma Sigma Sigma and a Sunday school teacher at the Nichols United Methodist Church.
During her extensive travels, she has visited many nations, including Spain, Australia, New Zealand, England, France, Greece, Italy, Amsterdam, and Morocco. Every location she visited immediately acquired a new favorite. Sarah loved eating food from other countries, especially cupcakes. She listened to music from all genres, turning up the volume so that everyone could hear her enter a room.
She danced, enjoying each day as it came. She frequently uttered the phrase “We travel, some of us forever, to seek other states, other lives, and other souls.” On June 2, 2018, at 11 a.m., a memorial service will be held at Nichols United Methodist Church for family and friends. After that, Sarah’s memorial service will be held.
Flowers can be exchanged for donations to the Sarah Koury Foundation, which will fund scholarships at Trumbull High School and the University of Delaware as well as medical research to treat the diseases that claimed her life.
