Rensje Leupen Obituary, Rensje Leupen Has Sadly Passed Away

Rensje Leupen Obituary, Death – Rensje Court (Leupen), 97, of Serenacare Inc, formerly of Campbellton, NB, passed away peacefully at the Moncton Hospital, surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, May 24th, 2023. Born in Rolde, Netherlands, she was the daughter of the late Hendrik and Bregtje (nee Wagenaar) Leupen.

Rensje came to Canada in 1946 as a Warbride on the Queen Mary and docked at Pier 21 in Halifax, Nova Scotia. She then travelled by train to Campbellton, NB where she would reside with her husband and raise their children. Rensje remained in their cherished home in Brookside for 72 Years until the Fall of 2018, when she moved to Moncton to be closer to her daughter and family.

Rensje became a Canadian Citizen on September 26, 1974. She was a lifetime member of the First United Church in Campbellton as well as a lifetime member of the United Church Women (UCW). She was a much-loved mother, grandmother, and Oma. She will be sadly missed by her daughter Betsy Bastarache (John) and son Jerry Court (Cheryl); her 5 grandchildren Kelly (late Gregory Neate), Tracy (Jason), Samuel, Willem and Noah; and her great-granddaughter, Lydia.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Robert Lee Court; sister Miny, brothers Remt and Hendrik; and granddaughter Mikaela. The family would like to give thanks to Susan Dixon and the staff of Serenacare (4 Briarlea Drive) for their wonderful love and care of Rensje over the past four years. As per Rensje’s wishes, Private Family Graveside Service to be held at Campbellton Rural Cemetery.
