Philly Nguyen Obituary, Death – Philly Nguyen suddenly passed away. We are passing along this message to the people in our community with heavy hearts after being shocked by the unexpected death of our beloved Coach Philly. Because Philly had previously competed at the top level.
We knew right away that he was going to be a tough opponent when he first joined the Elite Gymnastics Academy (EGA) Family in 2016. His relentless dedication to gymnastics served as an example to his teammates, instructors, and the competitors he faced. He entered the gym on the first day, and it was immediately apparent that he belonged there. He was obviously a participant there.
He took great pleasure in discussing new ideas for drills, the accomplishments of his players, and the specific actions that each person was taking to move closer to achieving their objectives. Almost immediately, the Philadelphia metropolitan area was acknowledged as a significant player in the USA Gymnastics Trampoline & Tumbling sectors.
Philly will be remembered as the coach who gave a high-five or a fist bump to every player on the team as they left the field and made sure they all had smiles on their faces. He also invested time in getting to know each athlete and helping them reach their objectives. He exuded humility, friendliness, brightness, and a positive attitude in life to everyone he dealt with. He was an outstanding example of achievement both inside and outside the weight room.
We consider ourselves to be tremendously fortunate to have known him. Without him, there will be a huge vacuum in our lives. We are sure that our community will continue to commemorate Philly’s memory and be affected by the legacy he left behind because he was one of a kind.
