Michael Smeyne Obituary, Death – Michael Smeyne of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania has sadly passed away. In the city of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, Michael F. Ormseth and Darlene Forrest welcomed their first child on January 31, 1958. Michael was given his father’s name. Michael had a really successful career in sales as well as information technology.
He retired after owning his own computer company, Western MicroSystems, working as the hospital’s director of information technology at Children’s Care, and concluding his career with Pivot Power selling diesel engine packages for irrigation. In addition to being well-known for his warmth and his outstanding marketing skills, it was also well-known that he had a technical side. Outside of work, Michael was passionate about music, audio equipment, and sports cars.
He had totally rebuilt the engine in his 1989 Porsche 911, which gave him a distinct sense of pride. In addition, he loved traveling, especially to Cannon Beach, Oregon, which was his absolute favorite place on earth, and New York City. Michael was a loving husband and father to his four children, Michael (Mikey), Jamie, Kent, and Rachel.
He had been married to Beth for the past nine years. Michael’s son shared the same name. In addition to his wife Beth (Mriden) Ormseth, Michael is also survived by his parents Michael F. Ormseth and Darlene Forrest, brothers Tom (Valerie) and Mark (Laura), children Mikey (Melanie) Ormseth, Jamie (Scott) Ormseth, Kent Ormseth, and Rachel Ormseth, as well as stepchildren Millie Brower and Mason Reitzel.
His dogs Pennie and Coco (whom he referred to as his therapy pup as he battled cancer) and his six grandchildren Lilli, Hannah, Ethan, Owen, Maya, and Charlotte, as well as his six nieces and nephews, were all extremely close to him. Michael was a great father, son, brother, and friend. He was also a kind and supportive husband. Colin Fitzsimmons, Bob Patterson, the Pivot Power family, and everyone else who knew Michael will all mourn his departure in their own special ways.
