Keith Fisher Obituary, Keith Fisher Has Passed Away

Keith Fisher Obituary, Death – We mourn the quiet death of Keith Glenn Fisher on May 25, 2023. He had a long and happy life, leaving memories for everybody. Keith was born in Grand Saline, Texas, to Jim and Mary Fisher on July 26, 1935. He and his seven siblings—Audrey Fisher Ewalt, Arlene Fisher Koonce, Glenda Fisher Thompson, Jimmy Fisher, Ralph Fisher, Linda Kay Fisher Hollowell, and Sherry Fisher Goff—lived in Van Zandt County all their lives.

Keith was Shirley Marie Hashert Fisher’s devoted spouse for 57 years. They constructed a house in Grand Saline and reared Gregg Fisher and Wendy Fisher. Keith was a loving father and “Papa.” He enjoyed time with his grandkids, Austin Fisher, Chase Fisher, Kandace Phillips, and Jordan Gilbert. He always asked about their lives, supported their goals, and laughed with them. Papa’s great-grandchildren—Brynleigh, Paisley, Walker, Dallas, Savannah, Georgia, Caroline, Brady, Gaines, Maverick, and Mary-Martin—enhanced his life. He loved every moment with them.

Keith loved baseball since his youth. He always watched the Texas Rangers. Keith was a small coach and Dallas Cowboys and Indian football lover. The ideal armchair quarterback and baseball manager! Keith liked his daily paper, Donut Shop morning crew of guys, Suduko puzzles, road trips throughout the US, and afternoon coffee with his best friend/brother-in-law Benny Hollowell. Keith spent much of his retirement on Lake Fork fishing for crappie and bass. Keith enjoyed weekly Saturday Game Nights with Benny Hollowell and Linda Kay for food and dominoes.

Keith farmed all his life. He always loved producing veggies and working hard. After retiring, he helped farmers and planted a little garden in his yard. His hard work and commitment made him happy and respected. Keith was kind to others. His warmth and charity left an unforgettable effect on many people.
Keith was predeceased by his wife Shirley, parents Jim & Mary Fisher, brother Jimmy, sisters Arlene, Glenda, and Sherry, and brothers-in-law Odell Rogers, George Worthington, Hershall Ewalt, Hubert Koonce, and Mike Thompson. Gregg Fisher, wife Julie, and Wendy Fisher, Frisco, survive him. His grandkids, great-grandchildren, siblings Audrey, Ralph (wife Mona), Linda Kay (husband Benny), and many more family and friends survive him. At 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, Bartley Funeral Home will celebrate Keith. Family and friends can visit Bartley Funeral Home on Monday, May 29, 2023, from 6-8 p.m.
