John Barr Obituary, Death – John David Barr, Jr., a John David Barr who had been battling illness for a significant amount of time, went away at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville after losing his fight. It is already 2019 and he is 54 years old.
Before he was born on March 20, 1969 in Henderson, Kentucky, he was predeceased by both of his parents, John Barr, Sr. and Sharon Tripp Sullivan. He was named after his late father. John had previously owned both B & B Underwater Logistics as well as Lake Cumberland Canvas, but he ultimately decided to sell both of his companies. He enjoyed nothing more than getting out on the lake and going turkey hunting. These were two of his favorite hobbies. John frequently attended the Pleasant Hill Community Church as one of his destinations.
Surviving members of his family include his son, Colton Barr, who is survived by his wife, Chaley, of Russell Springs; his daughter, Brittany Barr, who is survived by her husband, Dan Thorne, of Indianapolis, Indiana; three sisters, Elaine (and Charlie) Buis of Russell Springs, Melissa Hill of Russell Springs, and Stephanie Alexander of Livingston, Texas; four grandchildren, Kian, Rylan, Cameron, and Lillianna; his stepmother, Sue Barr of Jamestown; and his
Brother Johnny Hood will serve as the officiant for the funeral services that will be place at Bernard Funeral Home on the Sunday, May 28, 2023 at 2:00 PM Central Standard Time. The funeral home will open its doors for viewing on Sunday at eleven in the morning, and it will remain open until the commencement of the funeral ceremonies at one in the afternoon.
The family requests that, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be sent to the Bernard Funeral Home in John’s memory to assist in covering the costs of the funeral.
