Jessica Gean Obituary, Death – She was the daughter of Kenneth Gean and Janice (Huck) Gean Moore, and she was born in Greensburg, Kansas, on October 10, 1973. After graduating from Protection High School in 1992, Jessica attended Barton County Community College in her hometown of Protection, Kansas.
Then, in 1996 and 2011, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Kansas State University and a Master of Arts in Teaching from Fort Hays State University, respectively. In 1999 and 2000, she began her career in education by teaching third grade in Greensburg, Kansas. She taught fifth grade in Lincoln, Kansas, during the 2016–17 school year and special education in Bennington, Kansas, from 2017 to the present.
She taught special education at South Central Elementary School in Protection, Kansas, from 2000 to 2014. Jessica was a resident of Lincoln, Kansas, and a member of the Bennington Bible Church. She participated in both K.N.E.A. and the 4-H program at Kiowa Creek. She enjoyed road excursions with Traci, hanging out with Hudson, and watching Jackson and Emmarie demonstrate their animals. Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas State Wildcats were her two favorite teams.
She enjoyed her musical pursuits, her two pets, and her singing immensely. Mother Janice Moore of Coldwater, Kansas; brother Randyl Gean (Katresa) and nephew and niece Jackson and Emmarie Gean of Protection, Kansas; sister Erica Gean of Wichita, Kansas; additional “sisters” Traci, Pam, Nicci, and Jaymi; and numerous other family members and friends also survive her. Her family consisted of Vernon and Maxine Huck, Kenneth Gean and Bucky Moore, and Larry Huck, her uncle.
