Jerry Leonard Obituary, Warrick Wanderers Camping Club Member Has Died

Jerry Leonard Obituary, Death – Jerry Simpson Leonard, 87, of Boonville, Indiana died on May 22, 2023. Roy and Nora (Simpson) Leonard had him on March 5, 1936. 1954 Tennyson High School graduate. Jerry spent years on the family farm. He retired in 1997 after 15 years in the Squaw Creek Mine and driving a school bus.

Jerry was a 65-year Baker Chapel UMC member. He belonged to Strangers Rest Lodge 240 F & AM, the Scottish Rite, Hadi Shrine Temple, and UMWA Local 1189. He joined the Warrick Wanderers Camping Club and liked camping and touring. His parents, siblings Aileen Tremper, LeRoy Leonard, Dorothy McLaughlin, Louise Lamping, and Barbara Leslie, great granddaughter Alexis Simmons, and sons-in-law Ron Groenert and David Burch predeceased him.

Jerry is survived by his wife of 67 years, Emma Sue (Marshall) Leonard; children, Debra Groenert of Evansville, Ruth Ann Burch of Boonville, and Jerry Lee Leonard (Buffy) of McDonough, GA; grandchildren, Christopher Groenert (Emilee), Julie Curtis (Chad), Heather Wilson (Brian), Lance Goodrum (Keyonia), Chelzzie Goodrum, and Emery Leonard; great-grandchildren, Mason, Grayson, Weston, and Charlotte Groenert, Ashley Simmons, Dylan Simmons (Destiny), and Skyl

Koehler Funeral Home, 304 East Main Street, Boonville, Indiana 47601 will have visitation on Friday, May 26, 2023 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, May 27, 2023, from 9:00 a.m. to service time, the funeral home will host visitation. Pastor Karen Sureck will officiate at the funeral home at 11:00 a.m.
