East Highland Park Shooting – An investigation into the shooting death of a young woman, age 21, which occurred in the community of East Highland Park is being carried out by the Henrico County Police Division at the present time.
Following reports of gunfire in the area on Friday, May 19, around 3:45 in the morning, police were called to the 3400 block of Howard Road in order to investigate the situation.
According to the reports from the police, a woman with a gunshot wound was found outside of one of the apartment complexes. The victim’s name has since been revealed to be Diamond Reneé Cox, who was 21 years old and was from Richmond. Cox was taken to a nearby hospital in an attempt to treat her wounds; however, she did not survive the injuries that she sustained and passed away later.
While the situation is still being looked into by the authorities, the police have assured the public that there is not currently any risk to their safety.
