Cécile McLeod Death, Obituary- We are announcing the demise of a beautiful woman, Cécile McLeod, with a heavy and sad heart. She will be much missed. It was in the wee hours of the morning on May 12, 2023 at the Temiskaming Lodge that she said her goodbyes to us.
Her parents Roméo and Rhéa Robitaille, her husband Doug, her sister Rita, and her brothers Armand and Edouard all passed away before she did. Her husband Doug also passed away. She is survived by her children Denise, who was raised by Bill, Kenneth, who was raised by Mary-Ann, and Carole, who was raised by Gordon. She leaves behind eight grandkids as well as eleven great-grandchildren, all of whom will mourn her passing.
Mom loved spending time in the yard and took a lot of satisfaction in the various flower beds that she had. She sang at a great number of weddings and funerals in the Tri-Towns area, in addition to playing the organ for Sunday Masses at Sainte-Therese Parish, which she had been attending for many years. Her first foray into music was at an impressionable age, when she taught herself to play the piano and accordion, and then, when she was somewhat older, she began taking violin classes. Mom lavished her family with love and was very generous with both her time and her resources.
We would like to express our gratitude to each and every member of the Temiskaming Lodge personnel for the exceptional care that they provided. On Friday, May 26, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., the family of the late Cécile McLeod will have a visitation at Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Cobalt. The visitation will be open to relatives and friends. After that, at eleven in the morning, there will be a memorial mass. The ceremony was presided over by Father Wayne Mills. A reception will be place at the Cobalt Golden Age Club Hall immediately after the liturgy. After the service, interment will take place at the columbarium in the Haileybury Catholic Cemetery.
