Brenda Childers Obituary, Death – Brenda Sue Childers, age 76 of Louisville passed away May 20, 2023 surrounded by her loving family. She was born April 5, 1947, to the late Howard Austin Bales and Addie Marie Slusser. Sue was an avid gardener, she loved flowers and plants of all kinds.
She also loved photography. She always had her camera handy and ready to shoot. She took a multitude of amazing photos of birds, flowers and even holding bumble bees. Of all the things she loved she loved her family the most. One of her favorite events was the annual backyard cook out at Bonnie’s, because all the family came.
She devoted her life to her husband and was a loving mother. She loved being a grandmother and great grandmother. Her babies were the light of her life. She was dearly loved, and will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege to know her. She is preceded in death by her parents, her infant son Mark Childers III, and her baby sister Janet Marie Bareis.
Sue is survived by her loving husband of 61 years, Mark Childers; daughter, Lisa Mattingly (Greg); son, Scott Childers; grandchildren, Morgan Curry (Nathan), Matthew Mattingly, Scotty and Mark Childers IV; great grandchildren, Marley and Mark Childers V, Joshua and Carrie Curry; a brother, David Bales (Debbie); a sister, Bonnie Marcum; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other family and friends. Services are private.
