Betty Lane Obituary, Tompkinsville, Kentucky Resident Has Passed Away

Betty Lane Obituary, Death – At the age of 87, Betty Jean (Dyer) Lane, who resided in Tompkinsville, Kentucky, died away at the Monroe County Medical Center on Thursday, May 25. Betty was born on January 31, 1936, in Tompkinsville, Kentucky. Her parents, the late Dora (Anderson) Dyer and Bob Dyer, predeceased her.

She tied the knot with Ishmael Glen Lane on January 26, 1952, and he was the one to pass away before her on May 27, 2019. Betty was a stay-at-home mom who found great fulfillment in tending to the needs of her family. She attended the Rock Valley Church of Christ regularly throughout her life. Betty’s favorite activities included going on vacation, going shopping, and spending time with her family.

Diana Proffitt and Jimmie, Betty’s daughter and son-in-law, both of Tompkinsville, Kentucky, are the only members of Betty’s family who have survived her passing. Additionally, Betty is survived by her three sisters: Virginia Sprowl of Tompkinsville, Kentucky; Katherine Jackson of Tompkinsville, Kentucky; and Clara Combs of Sheperdsville, Kentucky.

She was predeceased not just by her husband but also by her parents and four of her sisters: Gladys Cook, Margaret Sprowl, Inez Emmert, and Addie Crabtree. Her brother Mack Dyer also passed away before her.
On Wednesday, May 31st, at one o’clock in the afternoon, funeral services will be place at the Rock Valley Church of Christ. After the service, burial will take place at Bailey Cemetery.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Yokley Trible Funeral Home. On Wednesday, visitation will begin at 8:00 a.m. and continue at the Rock Valley Church of Christ until the ceremony begins at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of sending flowers, memorial contributions in Betty’s name can be sent to the American Cancer Society, the Potter Children’s Home, or Bailey Cemetery.
