Barbara Kardell Obituary, Death – Barbara Kardell Has Sadly Passed Away.On May 17, 2023, Barbara Ann Kardell (née Thomas), age 80, a resident of Port Huron, passed away in a serene and peaceful manner. Her demise occurred at the age of 80. Her parents were the late John Thomas and Ida (Nagy) Thomas, and she was born on February 18, 1943 in the city of Detroit, in the state of Michigan.

After receiving her diploma from Yale High School, Barbara followed in the footsteps of her mother, sister, and Aunt Bobbi by taking a job in the kitchen of Yale Public Schools, where she remained working for an extended period of time. Barbara will be dearly missed by her son Ken Kardell; daughter, Vicki (Dave) Shevnock, son David (Rachel) Kardell; grandchildren, Robyn (Volan) Stilson, Melissa (Joe) Schafke, Joseph Shevnock, Emily (Tyler) Meyers, Nick Shevnock (Katherine) and Krystal Kardell; great-grandchildren, Nebraska, Jaxon, Lenora, Marleigh and Morgan; a sister, Mollie (Homer) Huston.

Her granddaughter Heather Kardell, her grandson Bill Thomas and his wife Marilyn Thomas, and John Thomas and his wife Germaine Thomas, who were her brothers and sisters-in-law, all went away before she did.
This coming summer, her children have decided to honor their late mother with a memorial service that would be held in a more intimate environment. Mom is going to be remembered for the rest of our lives for the pride and love that she had for her children, for her sense of humor.

(because what parent is going to laugh when their child inadvertently hits them in the head with a flying banana? ), for her love of coffee and “something sweet to go with it,” and for the times when we were sick as children. These are the things that will make her stand out in our memories. She never skipped coming home from work to check on us, bringing with her attention, food, and affection along with her every time. Mom, make sure you get some rest, and ask Grams to offer our love to you on our behalf. You are able to honor the memory of the departed by contributing to the “Wishes of the Family” fund.
