Arturo Pena Obituary, Death – Arturo Pena Has Sadly Passed Away. Arturo Pena, 33, a resident of Barstow, was named as the driver who was killed in an accident involving two vehicles and a train by the San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office. The collision involved a train. It took place on the evening of Tuesday, May 9, 2023, somewhere around the 16000 block of north D Street at 8:30 o’clock in the evening. A BNSF train was involved in the incident along with a gray Chevrolet SUV, a white Ford SUV, and the gray Chevrolet SUV.
The incident was responded to by Deputy Wolff and Deputy Cote of the Major Accident Investigation Team, and they took over the investigation after the occurrence. Arturo Pena was heading southbound on D Street when he crossed into the opposite lanes of traffic and collided with the Chevrolet, according to the investigation conducted by Sherffi’s officers. As a result of the incident, the Ford went off the road and overturned while going down an embankment.
It finally came to a stop on train tracks directly in front of an approaching train. According to a news release issued by the sheriff’s office, “the northbound train was unable to stop in time to avoid colliding with the Ford.” At the scene, Arturo Pena’s death was confirmed by medical personnel. Two of the people who were riding in the gray Chevrolet were complaining of being in agony when they were taken to the nearby hospital. At the time of the collision, authorities reported that there were eight people inside the Chevrolet, including six minors and two adults.
